Pastor William L. Brent, Th.D., is the inspiration behind the vision, mission, and purpose of the creation of Caregiver’s Story Incorporated & Grandpa’s Dream. An organization with educational base content for spiritual growth, health, wellness, love, and restoration.

Grandpa’s Dream provides vital knowledge for the care and welfare of sick and disabled people and supports the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of caregivers.

Pastor William L. Brent earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Langston University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and certified in divinity from Victory Bible College, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He earned a master’s and a doctorate in theology from International Seminary, Plymouth, Florida; and Senior Pastor of the New Life Christian Center, Lamar, Colorado.

Pastor Brent lived a life of love for humanity as he ministered the Word of God to people of all ages and backgrounds worldwide. He declares, “God is The God of A Second Chance.” Moreover, we ought to “Love thy neighbor as thy self.” (Leviticus 19:18).

His ministry teaches, “God has created us in his own image” (Genesis 1:27), and he understands everything about us. God knows what is in our hearts, mind, and what is deeply rooted in our souls. He knows our needs, fears, insecurities, worries, and vulnerabilities. Likewise, God knows the desires of our hearts.

In this book, Amazing Grace, Pastor Brent explains how God ministers to us— through his unchanging Word. This book guides the reader step-by-step on how
to apply the Word of God in every area of life—every day, with the complete understanding that God gave us his Word— not only to reveal Himself to us but also to care for us.

Pastor Brent had a special anointing with the spiritual gift of “healing”—by the “laying on of hands” ( Acts 8:14–19) to the sick, elderly, disabled; and he was the voice to the voiceless and comfort to all that knew him.

Today, his vision and teachings continue, as he passed on the gauntlet to his daughter, Carolyn A. Brent, an American writer, elder care & caregiver advocate. Through Pastor Brent’s teachings— together, their written work is located in the Library of Congress, the libraries of Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and numerous other medical centers, universities, and retail outlets worldwide.

The Spiritual Vision Behind Grandpa’s Dream

Dr. William L. Brent is the inspiration for GrandPa’s Dream. This program is a tribute to him, to his life-long ministry, and to his compassion for all people to help the sick and the needy.

Affectionately known as “GrandPa,” Dr. Brent studied and earned a doctorate degree in theology at International Seminary, Orlando Florida. He lived a life of love and has ministered the word of God to people all over the world. He believes God is “THE GOD OF A SECOND CHANCE,” and we ought to “Love thy neighbor as thy self” (Leviticus 19:18).

Dr. Brent has a spiritual gift of healing and shares this gift by the laying on of hands to the sick, poor, and those who have given up on life. Dr. Brent’s vision of empowering mankind by the word of God is eternal.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

– Luke 4:18

On the fifth day of February 1982, I picked up a Bible in my home and began to read. I tried to memorize the New Testament but I never accomplished the feat. I was so happy for the Word that God led me into a 31 day fast devouring His Word without a morsel of food parting my lips. Forty-one (41) pounds lighter, God changed me into a new creation. old things had passed away and all things had become new.

In August 1984 the Lord led me to be trained in the things of God. I left home in Colorado and went to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I was trained in every area of the ministry. “I started at Rhema and finished in Victory!”

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

– II Timothy 2:15

If there is a rightly dividing the word of truth, there is also a wrongly dividing the word of truth, so search the scriptures to be approved of God.

“Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.

Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma has over 220 Home Bible Fellowship Study Groups responding to Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty’s vision for church growth and I am a product of that vision.

The human body needs continuous renewal and replenishing or it will die. That requirement is also true for the church, the body of Christ.

One of the greatest needs of a dynamic and growing church is evangelism. If evangelism is not a strong part of the church it will remain dormant, producing no fruit, or it will die.

More important is the command of our Lord Jesus Christ to evangelize – to go into all the world preaching the Gospel and making disciples. When Jesus told His disciples that they would be His witnesses after the Holy Spirit came upon them, He also told them they would first be witnesses in their own hometown – in Jerusalem. Only after they evangelized Jerusalem the disciples could then spread out unto Judea, Samaria, and finally unto the ends of the earth.

Churches need to be involved in evangelism similar to the saints in the book of Acts.

Winning people to the Lord must begin in our own neighborhoods, in our cities and villages; wherever we have been planted.

It is always my endeavor to teach the Word of God, not from a Denominational viewpoint, not a Theological concept, nor anyone’s personal opinion, mine included. I always want to make whatever I say based in the Word of God, not to get an idea for a subject, and then find some scriptures to support that, and go ahead and present the subject, but rather to teach the Word. So it is imperative that if you are going to receive the MAXIMUM benefit from the study to search the scripture for yourself, follow along, read the Bible for yourself, that’s why I give you the Scripture verses. Don’t take what I say as the final authority – because I am human, I could miss something. I don’t intend to, I don’t want to, but suppose I do? There is no point in you missing it because I miss it. So if you study the Word and follow right along with me, that will keep all of us honest, and our integrity will be maintained and the Word of God will be presented as it should be by the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Bill,

We congratulate you on your completion of the Foundations Classes. Your willingness to be a part of Victory is important to us. God calls people to support a church as well as He calls those who lead it. Your coming is a response to God’s calling upon your life. We honor this and rejoice that you have committed yourself to this ministry.

Each of us makes up the church, the body of Christ, and our relationship with one another is vitally important. The depth of our commitment one to another reflects the depth of our commitment to Christ. We encourage you to make the decision to walk in love and not be moved by the circumstances the enemy would try to bring against you. Faith works by love and love conquers all.

We are counting on you to share in the work of the ministry. God has called all of us to be about His business. As we work together we will enjoy the results together. The investment of your prayers, service, giving and attendance is going to bring you a great return. Let everything you do be a seed and expect God’s harvest to come your way.
